Since its introduction over fifteen years ago, countless backpackers have seen and done it all with theirs. The Southwest’s main pack body is built with a new, fully woven Dyneema® 200-denier fabric that offers more durability than ever before with the same signature lightweight and 100% waterproof qualities that have made Dyneema our primary material choice from the beginning. With solid-fabric exterior pockets that offer added protection for whatever’s inside in abrasive, rocky terrain, the Southwest is a comfortable pack that delivers premium performance wherever you’re headed.

  • The new Dyneema® Woven Composite 3.9 combines the light weight of Dyneema® Composite Hybrid 3.8 with durability and abrasion resistance that surpasses even the heavier Dyneema® Composite Hybrid 5.9.
  • Redesigned shoulder straps and a sewn-through back panel provide a more comfortable and secure fit, with better weight distribution and less wear over time.
  • Redesigned outside pockets with more depth, lower back edges for easier access to water bottles, and improved security for gear (like the ice axe) make packing and accessing items more convenient.
